Sonya is an artist and maker curious about the role of design in accounting for natural change and intentional use of deterioration. A sophomore from Vermont, Sonya loves working with steel and is fascinated with the accelerated rusting of metal in her sculptural work. Outside of the studio, you can find her on hikes around New Haven, painting the budding trees at the Farm, brewing cups of tea for friends and snacking on copious amounts of rice cakes.
