A little bit more about Ren:
Despite hailing from Los Angeles, Ren developed an early interest in food systems: in high school, they started the Rain Tank Project, which involved the purchase and installation of a large cistern whose contents went to water an adjacent community produce garden that they constructed. Ren has worked for compost nonprofits in LA, in addition to working two summers on their friend’s organic family farm in rural Michigan, helping with harvesting, washing, processing, and selling at the local farmer’s market. Prior to Yale, Ren spent time in the Galapagos and the Amazon, where they worked on invasive species removal on an ecological reserve. Ren was hired as Music Manager in March 2020, and began this job in September 2021. Ren loves knead 2 know and is very, very sad when it pauses during winter. As Music Manager, Ren gets to connect with all the amazingly talented musicians around campus and coordinate their arrival and performances for post-k2k pizza parties. Ren is notorious for booking anything from folk to classical piano to doom metal – definitely hit them up if you have an idea for some non-vegetal beats that could crop up on the acre!
