A little bit more about Lillian:
Initially a Farm Manager with the YSFP, Lillian now coordinates conversations on food and racial equity for the community. Having grown up in Chicago and not really considered the impact of food systems and agriculture before she came to Yale, she is really excited to be involved with the YSFP this year. Broadly, she is interested in thinking more about how food justice is an extension of the racial project, and its effects on communities of color in the US and around the world. By extension, she is also interested in exploring how communities and activists have resisted structural inequity, be it through community gardening, preserving cultural agriculture, privileging indigenous methods of caring for the land, or housing policy.
