Meet Eli White ’25!
Eli is from the little town of Mancos in Southwest Colorado and they grew up around many family friends’ farms in the valley and the programming of the Montezuma School to Farm project. They sought out the Yale farm early in their first-year, and currently are on the culinary team and a harvest leader. Off the Farm, you can find them playing Dungeons and Dragons, reading science fiction and fantasy books, and working with the Yale Undergraduate Jazz Collective. As an environmental studies major and a writer, they are interested in the intersection of agricultural and environmental justice with storytelling and the arts. Their favorite part of the farm is the pizza oven, and the people. The title of Eli’s summer internship project is “Small Town Kid Goes to Yale to Dig Up Carrots” and uses watercolor painting to reflect on beauty, agriculture, space, and belonging.
