The Yale Farm is a special place on campus. Through the practice of farming, students care for soil, plants, animals, and one another. The Yale Farm provides a problem-rich environment for problem-based learning.
Food systems exhibit complexity across scales and contexts. By introducing food systems problems into Yale courses, the YSFP enriches disciplinary learning and stimulates creative and critical inter-disciplinary thinking.
What is sustainable food and sustainable agriculture? The most sustainable approach is largely dependent upon the specific contexts of places and people. By working in concert with people and organizations around the world, the YSFP introduces Yale students to the rich diversity of many possible sustainable futures.
On the farm, in the classroom, and around the world, the Yale Sustainable Food Program grows food-literate leaders.
